The ‘Lovecraft Country’ director parts ways with the Marvel Studios film about the half-human, half-vampire Eric Brooks, who seeks revenge for the death of his mother; the movies is still supposedly slicing into theaters November 7, 2025.
Eric Pearson pens the script, following previous writers Michael Green, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Michael Starrbury, Beau DeMayo and Nic Pizzolatto.
The original story of Blade follows half-human, half-vampire Eric Brooks, who seeks revenge for the death of his mother at the hands (or fangs) of vampires. Mahershala Ali takes over the role of the eponymous vampire slayer Brooks first portrayed by Wesley Snipes in the original 1998 film of the same name, as well as Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004).
Mahershala Ali stars in the eponymous role alongside Mia Goth and Delroy Lindo in undisclosed roles.
While production is still underway, we do know VFX will be created by Clear Angle Studios, Digital Domain, Industrial Light & Magic, and Sony Pictures Imageworks, with Marten Larsson acting as production visual effects supervisor.
Catch Blade when it slices into theaters November 7, 2025, barring further delays.
