Grant Gish, the 20th Century Fox TV executive who has helped develop Fox programming such as Bob’s Burgers and American Dad, has been promoted to Vice President of Animation, the studio announced on Monday.
He will report to Jonnie Davis, president of creative affairs.
“Grant is a bright, talented executive who has been managing our hugely important animation development efforts, and this promotion recognizes the great work he’s been doing as we look to find that next big cartoon hit,” Davis said. “He’s been laser-focused on identifying new and untapped talent, while at the same time building meaningful relationships with our established producers. I’m happy to announce his elevation to vice president.”
Gish, who is involved with the upcoming series Bordertown from Mark Hentemann and Seth MacFarlane starring Hank Azaria, is also developing projects with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie, 22 Jump Street), Phil Johnston and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph), and Ryan Reynolds.
Gish joined Fox TV in 2012 from Tom Werner’s Good Humor TV, where he worked on HBO’s animated series The Life & Times of Tim and also helped develop the animated pilot for Good Vibes, which later went to series at MTV. He got his start in as a page in the NBC Page Program, which led to work in the comedy development department at NBC. He is a graduate of Washington & Lee University.
