Press Release from MIPCOM
Paris, 29 June 2009 -- Brian Goldner, President and CEO of toy and game giant Hasbro, Inc. will deliver a keynote speech at MIPCOM, the world's entertainment content market, on Tuesday 6 October 2009.
Entitled "Becoming a Branded Play Company" Brian Goldner will outline how Hasbro has evolved into a $4 billion leader in children's and family leisure time entertainment products and services, notably through its many ties with the film, TV and video game sectors.
Digital gaming is a leading theme of MIPCOM's conference programme, which focuses on rethinking traditional media to win the battle for the digital living room. Brian Goldner's keynote illustrates the three key themes that run across the MIPCOM Conference this year: Rethinking Production; Games2TV2Games and Connected Entertainment.
With its flagship brands (Transformers, G.I. JOE, LITTLEST PET SHOP, NERF, MONOPOLY, TRIVIAL PURSUIT, PLAYSKOOL and MY LITTLE PONY), Hasbro has transformed the way leisure time is structured, allowing consumers access to entertainment when and where they want, thanks to the wide variety of formats on offer.
Brian Goldner will share his vision for Hasbro's joint venture with Discovery Communications, announced in May, that creates a television network and website dedicated to high-quality children's and family entertainment and educational content built around Hasbro brands. The keynote will add perspective on the company's increasing involvement in movie production (TRANSFORMERS, which grossed $700 million worldwide in 2007, and this summer's releases TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN and G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF THE COBRA -- Brian Goldner served as Executive Producer on both TRANSFORMERS films and Producer on the G.I. JOE film.), and in the video game sector, notably through its alliance with Electronic Arts, giving the publisher exclusive world rights to create digital games across key platforms including mobile, Internet, PC and consoles, based upon Hasbro's properties.
