Anthony Hopkins has signed onto New Line's supernatural thriller, THE RITE, reports Heat Vision. Contrafilm's Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are producing with Mikael Hafstrom directing.
Based on Matt Baglio's book, the "real life" story follows doubting seminary student that takes part in a Vatican exorcism school. Hopkins takes the role of an exorcism expert priest who doesn't use traditional methods. Michael Petroni adapted the script.
Christy Fletcher is the exec producer with New Line's Richard Brener and Merideth Finn are shepherding.
