Design, animation and visual effects studio Hornet, Inc., is expanding its operations in the commercial arena with the addition of several directors, designers and animators. New additions include animator and director Steve Talkowski, character designer and director Peter de Séve, director and designer Brian Koons, title designer Deborah Ross and the collective design team HONEST. Spearheading the companys expansion is new Hornet partner and executive producer Michael Feder, who joined Hornet from Blue Sky Studios where he produced spots for numerous clients including Sylvania, Pfizer, Gillette, Clorox and Target. Feder was also the production supervisor on the 20th Century Fox animated feature, ICE AGE, which will be released in March. Veteran animator Steve Talkowski, another alumnus of Blue Sky, joins Hornet as an animation director. At Blue Sky, he worked as a 3D-layout artist on ICE AGE and as an animator on the Academy Award-winning short film BUNNY. Talkowski began his work in computer graphics and animation in 1987 and joined Blue Sky in 1994. He contributed to the studios first feature film, JOES APARTMENT as well as animating numerous award-winning spots for M&M/Mars, Braun, Target, Pepsi, Gillette, Motts, Trident and Capri Sun. Talkowski also served as lead animator on ALIEN RESURRECTION for 20th Century Fox. Another addition is character designer and director Peter de Séve, who has contributed to many American magazines, including TIME, PREMIERE, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and THE NEW YORKER, for whom he has produced many covers. His feature credits include THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, THE EMPERORS NEW GROOVE, PRINCE OF EGYPT, A BUGS LIFE and the upcoming films TREASURE PLANET, FINDING NEMO and ICE AGE .
