Ingenuity Studios Names David Sewell VFX Supervisor

Emmy Award-winning industry veteran brings 25+ years experience to his new position overseeing client projects and supporting biz dev in the U.K.; will be based out of the company’s London office.

Streamland Media’s VFX division, Ingenuity Studios, has appointed David Sewell as VFX supervisor in the studio’s London office. In his new role, Sewell will supervise all client projects and support U.K. business development. He will report to studio partner and VFX supervisor Grant Miller.

A 25+ year industry veteran, Sewel’s credits include work on major productions including the Harry Potter franchise, World War Z, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and the James Bond franchise. Additionally, his previous and recent projects have included Chernobyl and The Wheel of Time and VFX

Sewell’s work includes Academy Award, Emmy Award, BAFTA Award, and Visual Effects Society (VES) Award winners. In 2009, he won an Emmy for Best Visual Effects on HBO’s Generation Kill miniseries episode “The Cradle of Civilization.”

“David’s ample industry experience gives him the insight to provide novel approaches to client hurdles, achieving high-quality results via production-friendly solutions,” added Miller. “Our global VFX team is looking forward to working under his expert supervision on upcoming projects.”

He is a member of the VES and has spoken at the Cambridge Film Festival. Sewell holds a BA (Honors) in Visual Communication and Design from Ravensbourne College of Art and Design in London.
