The Co-CEO of DC Studios will helm his own script for the upcoming ‘Superman’ franchise reboot, which will feature a young version of the Man of Steel.
The shiny new DCU, led by DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, will kick off with Superman: Legacy, a live-action feature film reboot of the famed franchise that will follow a younger version of the Man of Steel. DC Studios writer Tom King recently came forward in a YouTube interview to reveal that Gunn, who penned the script, will now also direct the film. This new job is chock full of perks!
Superman: Legacy is the first film from Gunn and Safran’s new Gods and Monsters chapter of the DCU; it focuses on Clark Kent as he struggles to balance his day job as an amateur journalist and his secret life as a superhero. As previously announced, Henry Cavill will not reprise the role, although a new actor has not yet been revealed.
