Lenovo and DreamWorks Expand Partnership

Leading animation studio taps computer manufacturer to deploy ThinkStations throughout departments; multi-year agreement follows last year’s roll-out of Lenovo computing infrastructure already transforming production operations.

DreamWorks Animation has once again turned to Lenovo to support its animation production. Last year, the computer/business solutions company was tapped to update the studio’s legacy data center. Now, just over a year later, the studio is turning to Lenovo as its preferred workstation innovation partner to deliver the high-end power and performance needed to bring its next cutting-edge animation feature films to life.

This new collaboration further strengthens the companies’ partnership, as it expands upon the technology leader’s current role as DreamWorks’ data center innovation partner.  As part of this multi-year agreement, DreamWorks will deploy Lenovo workstations, including the ThinkStation P620 and ThinkStation P920, across all departments for the development of content and characters, including the highly anticipated release of the studio’s upcoming feature, The Bad Guys.

The extension of this partnership follows the rollout of a new on-premises Lenovo computing infrastructure designed to transform DreamWorks’ data center into a high-performance, ultra-scalable and sustainable operations center for all its content creation.

With consumer demand for premium animated content at an all-time high, DreamWorks Animation turned to Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group to find innovative workstation solutions that could keep up with its ever-scaling ambitions, increasingly complex workflows, and faster production timelines.
