International licenser and distributor Mediatoon has signed new deals for several of its popular properties, including TWO OF A KIND -- SPIROU & FANTASIO; TIME JAM -- VALERIAN & LAURELINE; YAKARI; and THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN.
SPIROU & FANTASIO (26x30), which has received top ratings on France's M6, has been sold to companies in Switzerland (TSR), Netherlands (Z@pp), Norway (NRK), French Canada (Radio Canada) the Middle East (Al Jazeera), Belgium (VRT and RTBF), Morrocco (2M), Germany (RTL 2) and Israel (Noga).
TIME JAM -- VALERIAN & LAURELINE (40x30) was picked up in France by Canal + Family and France 3, and will soon be on air in Spain (TV3 Catalunya), Belgium (RTL Club) and Israel (Noga), while YAKARI (52x13) has been bought in Norway (NRK), Finland (FST), Canada (Telequebec), Italy (Rai 2), Portugal (RTP), Belgium (RTBF), Switzerland (TSR), Nigeria & Kenya (Teletoon Africa) and France (Teletoon). 26 new episodes of YAKARI will be available in November 2007.
In addition, the fully remastered classic series THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN (39x30) will be broadcast in Portugal (RTP).
Mediatoon, formerly Dargaud Distribution, led by Marie-Pierre Moulinjeune, markets the audiovisual rights of the group's production companies (Dargaud Marina, Ellipsanime, Dupuis, Storimages), including such legendary series as TINTIN, BABAR and LUCKY LUKE, as well as more recent successes, including TIME JAM -- VALÃRIAN & LAURELINE, TWO OF A KIND -- SPIROU & FANTASIO, THE MAGIC ROUNDABOUT and YAKARI. Mediatoon is enlarging its catalogue, going into partnership with other independent producers such as Bayard and Les Films du Triangle, as well as East Asian producers of quality mangas, such as Naruto and Keroro.
