The International Animation Film Market, held in conjunction with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, issues a call for submissions to the 2015 pitch sessions.
The International Animation Film Market (MIFA), held in conjunction with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, has issued a call for projects to the 2015 edition of the international film marketplace.
Celebrating its 30th year in 2015, MIFA is a major event in the world of animation, long-established as one of the leading leading event on the industry calendar. As the biggest animation festival in the world, Annecy is the can’t-miss annual appointment for animation professionals and fans. MIFA takes place June 17-19, 2015, with the International Animation Film Festival to be held June 15-20.
2,500 industry professionals from TV, cinema and other platforms from all over the world come together at MIFA. The Call for Projects offers a great opportunity to pitch projects in the earliest stages of development to affiliate partners and funders attending MIFA. Selected projects receive free MIFA accreditation, support and professional expertise, and a 10-minute pitch slot in front of a public audience comprised of animation professionals
Short films, features, TV series and specials, and transmedia projects are all eligible for submission, with partners awarding prizes to selected projects in each category. The deadline for submissions is February 13, 2015.
Previous projects that have received funding through MIFA include Jung and Laurent Boileau’s animated feature Approved for Adoption, and the Cesar-nominated short from Iran, Beach Flag, by Sara Saidan.
