Former Disney Consumer Products veteran to licensing strategy for Singapore-based CG animation studio’s lead properties, including ‘Insectibles,’ ‘Oddbods’ and ‘Rob the Robot.’
Singapore-based animation studio One Animation announced that it has recruited Rose Ng as VP of Licensing for Asia Pacific to lead the burgeoning consumer product licensing arm of its business in the region.
Ng will propel One Animation’s licensing strategy for its lead properties, which includes Insectibles, Oddbods and Rob the Robot. The studio’s series have enjoyed accelerated global success during the last 12 months, resulting in a push to extend the range of products beyond TV animation to include merchandise aimed at the kids’ and pre/early teen markets.
The first deal announcements for Asia Pacific are expected in the first quarter of 2016, demonstrating the international reach and appeal of One Animation’s characters and storytelling, particularly from comedy sketch show Oddbods.
Bringing more than two decades of consumer products experience to her new role at One Animation, Ng previously served as senior vice president at Li & Fung Company, managing over 100 licenses with thousands of shops throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, Rose spent 15 years with The Consumer Products Division at The Walt Disney Company, where she opened up the China office, generating multi-million-dollar sales to become one of Disney’s most profitable offices worldwide.
