Visegad Animation Forum Issues 2016 Call for Submissions

International animation pitching event runs alongside the Czech Republic’s Anifilm International Festival of Animated Films running May 3-5, 2016.

The Czech Republic’s Visegad Animation Forum, running May 3-5, 2016 in Trebon, has issued a call for entries for next year’s edition of the international animation marketplace and pitching event, which runs alongside the Anifilm International Festival of Animated Films.

The key international meeting place for animation professionals in Central and Eastern Europe. VAF features a competition of projects in development. VAF includes workshops, master classes and case studies focusing on good story structure, consultation of a realistic development plan, pitching techniques or ways to finance projects and coproduce. VAF serves as a rapidly growing networking platform for producers and filmmakers and new talents. VAF is a crossroads where decision makers from the TV broadcasters of the region come together with industry professionals to discuss financing opportunities and strategies for further developments.

Submit your project for an animated short film, TV series or TV special to the leading pitching competition in Central and Eastern Europe.

The VAF competition is open in two categories:

  • Short Films (single film less than 20 min.)
  • TV Series + TV Specials (series of any format and single films over 20 min.)

The best Short Film project receives financial support of 2,000 EUR for its further development. The winning TV Series or TV Special project gains direct access to Cartoon Forum. The deadline for submissions is February 8, 2016.

The Visegrad Animation Forum is held in cooperation with Anifilm (International Festival of Animated Films, Trebon, CZ). The Visegrad Animation Forum is organized by the ASAF (Association of Czech Animation) in collaboration with SPPA (Polish Animation Producers Association), APAF (Association of Animated Film Producers Slovakia), DSAF (Slovenian Animated Film Association) and MOME (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest). It cooperates with Cartoon Forum and is organized with the support of Creative Europe -- MEDIA Programme of the European Union and Visegrad Fund.
