Pixomondo Unveils PXO AKIRA Vehicle Shooting System at CES

Enhancing safety, reducing costs, and maximizing creative freedom compared to traditional methods, the new system offers an ‘all-in-one’ solution for filming vehicles using virtual production in any setting.

Sony will host the exhibit ‘Creative Entertainment Vision,’ which outlines the company’s long-term vision for the next 10 years, at CES 2025 in Las Vegas from January 7-10.

The booth is structured around three phases: ‘Creativity Unleashed,’ ‘Boundaries Transcended,’ and ‘Narratives Everywhere.’

Notably, VFX studio Pixomondo unveiled PXO AKIRA, a cutting-edge system that enhances safety, reduces costs, and maximizes creative freedom compared to traditional methods of shooting vehicles. PXO AKIRA combines an advanced robotic camera crane with a custom-built motion platform, LED volume technology and an integrated digital twin tool to deliver an “all-in-one” solution for filming vehicles using virtual production in any setting.

“PXO and Sony are on a mission to empower filmmakers… pushing the boundaries of virtual production, powered by the latest real-time technology,” said PXO CEO Jonny Slow.
