Pow Wow Productions recently added five new animation directors to its roster: illustrator Sheila Aldridge; Tim Biskup, art director/designer for Cartoon Network's TIME SQUAD, and creator of his own short FREDDY SEYMORE'S AMAZING LIFE for Nickelodeon; David Brewster, supervising animator for feature films including OSMOSIS JONES, THE ROAD TO EL DORADO and THE PRINCE OF EGYPT; John Corbitt, illustrator and cartoonist whose work has appeared in TIME Magazine and the Chicago Tribune; and Miles Thompson an illustrator and painter who has worked on the animated series DEXTER'S LABORATORY and JOHNNY BRAVO, and is currently working on the animated feature film LIL' PIMP. In signing these new directors, Pow Wow founder/director David Smith was looking to add interesting artists to the company's roster, regardless of their previous experience: "The artists themselves are unprecedented in the animation world. Part of my goal in launching and developing this company was to go outside the traditional realm to look for new, exciting talent and content to put into animation." The new directors join Pow Wow's existing line-up of original artists such as Arne Wong, Dan Yaccarino and Bob Camp. Santa Monica, California-based Pow Wow Productions was founded in 2001 by director David Smith and executive producer Donna Smith, and has previously completed animation for music video projects such as Eve's "Who's That Girl?" and Red Man's "Let's Get Dirty." The company is currently at work on a commercial campaign for 21st Century Insurance.
