Innovative new family attraction celebrating twenty years of Rainbow launches at the Explora Museum in Rome prior to undertaking a tour of major European cities.
Rainbow, the content powerhouse that is Europe’s biggest animation studio, is pushing back the boundaries once gain by launching an innovative new family attraction - the Rainbow Cartoon Lab. The project celebrates twenty years of Rainbow and launched at the Explora Museum in Rome on December 6th. It will then tour the world, taking in major cities across Europe.
Rainbow has been behind some of the world’s biggest animated childrens series, such as global smash Winx Club, as well as Mia and me, PopPixie and Huntik. The new partnership between what is the biggest animation studio in Europe and one of Italy’s premier family museums is designed to encourage children’s creativity through an interactive journey that shows how an illustrated series is created and developed. Kids can also visit a mini-cinema to watch some of Rainbow’s biggest hits, star in a cartoon through green screen technology and create their very own animation using a special app. The Lab will also feature a regular Cartoon Masterclass workshop, where artists and professionals from Rainbow will show kids the secrets behind the animation process.
Iginio Straffi, founder of Rainbow group comments, “We are delighted the Explora Museum has embraced this idea. Children will be very curious to discover how their favorite animations are made and the Rainbow Cartoon Lab will enable them to take part in the process themselves and make their very own cartoon!”
Adds Patrizia Tomasich, founder of the Explora Museum, “At Explora we enable children to have fun while discovering important things about science, the environment and many other subjects. The Rainbow Cartoon Lab is a fantastic addition to what we offer, as kids can now learn how this Italian content powerhouse creates the magical animations they all know and love.”
