The hit live-action/animated hybrid starring the infamous Blue Blur is now streaming on Paramount+ and available for rent or purchase across Paramount Home Entertainment’s digital platforms; coming to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD August 9.
Tune in, gotta be fast! Sonic The Hedgehog 2, isn’t just streaming – it’s racing onto Paramount+ today! Not to be left behind, it’s also now available to rent and purchase across digital platforms from Paramount Home Entertainment. And if you’re not fast enough, all is not lost, as Paramount Home Entertainment and Paramount Pictures is releasing the hit live-action/animated hybrid on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, but you’ll have to wait until August 9. Fans can also purchase both the new movie and original hit film Sonic The Hedgehog in a 2-Movie Collection on Digital or Blu-ray.
The Digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray releases include nearly an hour of bonus features, headlined by a new, animated short entitled Sonic Drone Home featuring Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Just in time, with school almost out, comes Sonic Origins, an all-new multi-game collection, dropping on June 23 on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch family of systems and PC – think SUMMER VACATION.
In the film, after settling in Green Hills, Sonic (Schwartz) is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik (Carrey) returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles (Elba), in search of an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails (O’Shaughnessey), and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
The film is produced by Paramount Pictures in association with SEGA Sammy Group; an Original Film/ Marza Animation Planet/ Blur Studio production, the world’s favorite blue hedgehog next-level adventure features the all-star cast of James Marsden; Ben Schwartz; Tika Sumpter; Natasha Rothwell; Adam Pally; Shemar Moore; Colleen O’Shaughnessey; Lee Majdoub; with Idris Elba and Jim Carrey.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Fowler, with a screenplay by Pat Casey & Josh Miller and John Whittington, and a story by Pat Casey & Josh Miller. The film is produced by Neal H.
