Here’s the new trailer Disney and Lucasfilm put out Sunday -- on May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day -- for the upcoming CGI animated Star Wars Rebels series set to premiere this Fall.

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope, which spans about two decades. The animated series is set in “a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world.” As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

The series includes Sabine (voiced by Tiya Sircar), a feisty Mandalorian weapons expert; Zeb, the intelligent muscle of the Ghost crew (Steve Blum); Ezra, a 14-year-old con artist (Taylor Gray); and Kannan, a survivor of the emperor's Jedi purge (Freddie Prinze Jr.).

Scheduled to premiere in the fall as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
