Studio AKA Reveals ‘Bad Tidings’ Title Sequence

The BAFTA and Emmy award-winning animation studio crafted the main titles for the Sky Studios Christmas feature, utilizing retro typography and visuals inspired by ‘The Pink Panther’ and ‘Home Alone.’

Studio AKA has released the animated main title sequence for the Sky Studios Christmas feature Bad Tidings, directed by Kristian Andrews (Rabbit Punch). Starring Lee Mack and Chris McCausland, the festive tale follows two feuding neighbors forced to set aside their differences when their neighborhood is threatened by a local crime family’s holiday heist.

Sky’s brief called for a spy-noir title sequence infused with comic flair and a sprinkle of festive charm. Working with a small, focused team, Andrews elevated a pared-back visual narrative with retro typography inspired by classics like The Pink Panther and Home Alone.

Nikki Kefford acted as executive producer, with 2D animation by Janina Putzker.
