WATCH: New Adult Swim Short Reveals Kinda Seedy Underbelly of Robot Fighting

Latest SMALLS film, ‘Robo Shinto,’ by Michael Marczewski, takes us into a back-alley Japanese fight ring where two opponents duel to the death.

There’s a new Adult Swim SMALLS commissioned short out, written, directed, designed and 3D animated by Michael Marczewski from UK creative studio Blinkink, that truly proves friendship knows no bounds.  The short, Robo Shinto, was inspired by Japan’s remote-controlled robot wrestling championships. According to the director, “I thought it would be funny if each robot regarded itself as a supreme samurai warrior, but turn out to be hilariously bad when it comes down to actually fighting.”

With more bravado than skills, our Shinto Warrior robots face combat with requisite demeanor and respect for honor; if enemies can become friends, can friends become enemies? Check it out below.
