FlashForward Shown to Critics, MacFarlane to Have Recurring Role
Matthew Belloni of THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER was one of a few TV critics to screen ABC's upcoming fall drama FLASHFORWARD this week, and one new tidbit that emerged is that FAMILY GUY creator Seth MacFarlane has a recurring role as an FBI agent.
Exec producers David Goyer said MacFarlane asked if there was a part for him on the show, so they cast him as an FBI agent who will likely recur in future episodes. "Seth called me up. He said 'I f****** love this script,'" Goyer said.
Family Guy the Movie?
In an interview with WIRED, Seth MacFarlane said that Fox is interested in a FAMILY GUY feature film. He said the show's creators know what they want to do, but the only stumbling block is finding the time. MacFarlane said that they are in the early planning stages.
MacFarlane Signs Extension With Fox For $100 Million
FAMILY GUY creator Seth MacFarlane has signed a deal with 20th Century Fox Television that will keep him there until 2012, the studio announced Monday.
The $100 million deal, according to TVGUIDE, makes him the company's highest-paid writer/producer and includes new media, retail projects, FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD and the upcoming FAMILY GUY spinoff THE CLEVELAND SHOW. MacFarlane will also work with FAMILY GUY writer Gary Janetti to produce a sitcom.

Family Guy Moves Forward Without MacFarlane
Fox has decided to move forward on new episodes of FAMILY GUY without striking creator/exec producer Seth MacFarlane, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. With the last new episode having aired Sunday, the network would have been forced to air reruns if it did not complete the episodes already in the pipeline.
MacFarlane has been quoted as saying, "I hope they don't do it" and that going ahead without him would hurt his relationship with the studio.

The FOX Broadcasting Co. continues its tradition of excellence in primetime animation with AMERICAN DAD, a new series from FAMILY GUY creator Seth MacFarlane. The much-anticipated return of FAMILY GUY is projected for summer 2005, when the acclaimed animated series will follow its DVD success with a fourth season on FOX. FOX also re-upped animated family sitcoms THE SIMPSONS (for a 16th season) nd KING OF THE HILL (going into season nine), making the network tops in its commitment to animation in primetime among public access, non-cable broadcasters in the U.S.
MacFarlane Goes For Two Series At FOX
FOX Broadcasting gave Matt Groening two tries at animated series and was amply rewarded with THE SIMPSONS and FUTURAMA. Now Seth MacFarlane, creator of FAMILY GUY, which aired on FOX for three seasons, is creating a pilot sitcom tentatively titled, AMERICAN DAD, according to VARIETY. If greenlit, the series could launch in fall 2004.
MacFarlane plans to provide several voices on AMERICAN DAD, as he did on FAMILY GUY. Helping him create, write and exec produce the pilot are FAMILY GUY veteran writers Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman.

Todd MacFarlane, creator of the comic book and late-night HBO animated series, SPAWN, revealed he was the anonymous person that bought baseball star Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball at a recent auction for over $3 million dollars. MacFarlane, who has had a lifelong love of the game, said that he will have the ball mounted in a glass case and tour the country speaking to kid groups about baseball.

Twenty-five-year-old Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the upcoming Fox TV primetime animated series Family Guy, has signed a five-year, multi-million dollar development deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television. Under the deal, MacFarlane will develop new programming and remain the executive producer and principal voice actor on his series Family Guy. Fox has guaranteed MacFarlane $2 million to $2.5 million for the first three years and if the show continues to air after that time, he will receive large increases the final two years.
