Monsters vs. Aliens Pilot Ordered by Nickelodeon
Nickelodeon has ordered a pilot from DreamWorks Animation based on MONSTERS VS. ALIENS, reports THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg announced the news at the 37th Annual J. P. Morgan Technology, Media and Telecom Conference in Boston.
DreamWorks and Nickelodeon announced last week their collaboration on KUNG FU PANDA: THE SERIES and Nick is currently airing THE PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR, another collaboration.

Nickelodeon Greenlights Third Season of Yo Gabba Gabba!
Nickelodeon has announced the pickup of a third season of the live-action preschool music series YO GABBA GABBA!. The network will commence production on 13 new half-hour episodes produced by The Magic Store and W!LDBRAIN in August in Los Angeles, Calif. YO GABBA GABBA!, created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz, is executive produced by Jon Berrett and Charles Rivkin.
YO GABBA GABBA! currently airs daily at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (ET) on NOGGIN.
New Deals Signed For Preschool Piggy Pals
National Geographic Television International finalized a raft of key new sales for its preschool animated series TOOT & PUDDLE (52 x 11), launched at MIPCOM in 2008.
Recent deals have been finalised with France 5, Cartoon Network Spain, SVT Sweden, TVB Hong Kong, RUV Iceland and Egyptian TV. These new sales join those made previously, which include Nickelodeon in the U.K., Germany, Australia and New Zealand, YLE Finland and TV2 Norway.

Viacom Layoffs Could Mean Shut-Down of NY Nickelodeon Studio
Cartoon Brew's Amid Amidi reported Thursday night that the massive layoffs at Viacom (850 employees across all sectors) mean the entire Nickelodeon Digital Animation Studios division in New York is closing. The productions housed there will continue mostly intact, but will likely be moved to different locations or be outsourced.
Nickelodeon runs the last remaining network animation studio on the East Coast, so the closing of the Times Square-adjacent office is a blow to the New York animation community.
