The Nickelodeon Kids and Family Games Group, recently formed to provide its audiences with innovative gaming experiences, made several new key management appointments. David Bergantino has been named VP of Premium Games Production; Shaan Kandawalla, VP of Retail and Licensed Games; and Pete Banks, VP of Engineering. Ricky Sprocket Gears Up For International Stardom

Executive production and distribution company, Bejuba! Ent., has secured Ricky Sprocket's rise to global stardom with sales of the namesake animated comedy series, RICKY SPROCKET -- SHOWBIZ BOY, to 29 new international territories through a deal with Nickelodeon. The series is co-produced by Studio B Productions, a subsidiary of DHX Media Ltd., and Snowden Fine Animation in association with Bejuba! Ent.

Nickelodeon President Cyma Zarghami To Keynote At MIPCOM Junior

Cyma Zarghami, President of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, will present the MIPCOM Junior 2008 Keynote on Sunday October 12. The 16th edition of MIPCOM Junior, the specialist international screening marketplace and conference for children's programming and merchandising will be held on the October 11-12 at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, France.

Nickelodeon Hits The Big 5-0

On Wednesday morning, Viacom's MTV Networks International will launch Nickelodeon Arabia, the network's 50th global channel.

The Arabic-language channel dedicated exclusively to kids ages 2 to 14 years old, will hit airwaves at 6 a.m. (KSA) tomorrow on free-to-air networks, Arabsat and Nilesat, reaching a potential audience of 190 million viewers across the Middle East.

Nickelodeon To Launch In Southern Africa July 1

African pay-TV operator MultiChoice Africa has signed a multi-year distribution deal with MTV Networks International to carry leading kids' entertainment brand, Nickelodeon, in southern Africa.

Starting July 1, 2008, Nickelodeon will launch as a 24-hour English language channel, broadcasting to more than 1.5 million DStv subscribers in Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Splat! Nickelodeon Lands In Poland

MTV Networks International today announced the launch of Nickelodeon Poland, the latest addition to its rapidly growing portfolio of channels in Central and Eastern Europe.

Nickelodeon Poland is a Polish language channel dedicated exclusively to kids and joins the other MTVNI channel brands currently available in Poland -- MTV, VIVA, VH1 and Comedy Central, which was the first local Comedy Central service to launch outside of the US.

Promotion At Nickelodeon Recreation

Nickelodeon has named John Paul Geurts to the new role of Vice President and Creative Director, Nickelodeon Recreation.

In this role, Geurts will be responsible for overseeing all creative and design development for Nickelodeon's Recreation business segments, including: hotels; theme parks; cruises; and live entertainment.

He will also continue to oversee Nickelodeon Recreation's Design Studio based in Orlando, Florida. The announcement was made by Howard Smith, Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon Recreation, to whom Geurts will continue to report.

Nickelodeon has promoted Mark Taylor to Senior Vice President and General Manager, Nickelodeon Animation Studio.

He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Nickelodeon's Burbank Animation Studio, the largest producer of television animation in the U.S.

He will report to Brown Johnson, President, Animation and Alison Dexter, Executive Vice President, Production, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group.

Teenage Mermaid Series Hits Nickelodeon

Pool parties will never be the same for three Aussie teens who discover their lives are forever intertwined as they face everyday problems with an added twist in the new Nickelodeon live-action, magical mermaid adventure, H2O.

The new half-hour series will kick off with a prime-time, hour-long movie on March 14, at 8 p.m. (all times ET/PT), followed by the series premiere on Sunday, March 16, at 8:30 p.m.

Thirty-Foot SpongeBob Marks Nickelodeon Universe Ride

Amid the construction bringing Nickelodeon Universe to life, a 30-foot SpongeBob SquarePants sculpture was installed at the stroke of midnight on Tuesday at the entrance to the new ride, SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge.

Local Minnesota manufacture TivoliToo Inc. created the giant 3D sculpture.

Nickelodeon has tapped the talents of 18-year-old Lily Collins, Phil Collins' daughter, to keep tween viewers up-to-date on trends in entertainment and pop culture, it was announced today by Paula Kaplan, Executive Vice President, Talent and West Coast General Manager, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

Nickelodeon Takes to the Seas and the Mall

Nickelodeon and Royal Caribbean Int'l, a cruise line owned and operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., have announced a new agreement to create the "Nickelodeon Family Cruise with Royal Caribbean." Corus Gets Nick Digital Rights

Leading Canadian media company Corus Ent. Inc. and MTV Networks Int'l (MTVNI) today announced plans to extend their multi-year broadcast partnership for Nickelodeon content to encompass all digital rights for Nickelodeon and related brands, covering broadcast, broadband, mobile, video-on-demand, pay-per-view, electronic sell-through and gaming. Nick Arabia To Launch in 2008

MTV Networks International (MTVNI) and Arab Media Group (AMG), the largest media group in the United Arab Emirates, have announced the upcoming launch of Nickelodeon Arabia. The 24-hour Arabic-language free-to-air channel will broadcast via satellite to 36 million TV households, including key advertising markets Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.

Back at the Barnyard to Premiere as Nick Series

BACK AT THE BARNYARD will move from the big screen to Nickelodeon television this fall in a new CG-animated series based on the hit Nickelodeon Movies/Paramount Pictures' movie. Nickelodeon Taps Katsky for New Post

Veteran production and development executive Tracy Katsky has been appointed to the newly created post of SVP of development and original programming at Nickelodeon, KIDSCREEN reports. Katsky will oversee all of the station's ongoing live-action and animation program development, live-action series production on the West Coast, and new series development for Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite.

Before joining Nickelodeon, Katsky served as SVP of development for HBO Independent Productions and earlier was SVP of comedy for Fox Broadcasting.
