Nick Orders Two New Series and Renews Two

Nickelodeon has ordered two new animated series, THE XS, a stylish series about a crime-fighting family who must thwart the forces of evil while still functioning as an average suburban family, and CATSCRATCH, featuring three fumbling felines who carry on in a world of humans. In addition, hit Nicktoon DANNY PHANTOM has been picked up for a second season of 20 episodes, bringing the total episode order to 40 and tween favorite MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT has been picked up for an additional 14 episodes, bringing its total number of episodes picked up to 40.

Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures have jointly acquired the motion-picture rights to THE ANYBODIES, written by best-selling author Julianna Baggott and illustrated by Peter Ferguson, about an 11-year-old heroine with special powers to change shape.

Geraci to Head Nickelodeon Research

Ron Geraci has been promoted from up to svp of research for Nickelodeon, overseeing all programming and advertising sales research for Nickelodeon and digital channels Noggin, The N, Nickelodeon Games and Sports (Nick GAS) and Nektons.

"Ron is a well-respected and talented executive who continually succeeds in keeping the entire Nickelodeon network abreast of audience and competitive research," said Laura E. Nickelodeon Networks Realigns Senior Management

Following the recent integration of Paramount Parks and Viacom Consumer Products under the leadership of Nickelodeon Networks president Herb Scannell, Leigh Anne Brodsky and Al Weber have been promoted to new positions, consolidating the leadership of the licensing and recreation businesses under Nickelodeon Enterprises, the ancillary business unit of Nickelodeon Networks. Brodsky has been named president, Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products, and Weber has been named president, Viacom Recreation.

Nickelodeon Videogame Master License Decision Nearing

In response to recent speculation about its master videogame licensing agreement, Herb Scannell, president, Nickelodeon Networks, said that Nickelodeon was working closely with several parties and was in the final stages of licensing rights to develop videogames based on Nickelodeon animated properties. Scannell indicated that the process would be supervised by independent directors of Viacom and that no decision had yet been made as to which videogame publisher would receive the rights.

Nickelodeon Orders 20 More SpongeBob SquarePants for 2005

Nickelodeon has taken the plunge, ordering 20 new episodes of SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, one of the most popular kids' shows in television history, adventures to premiere on in 2005.

Series creator Stephen Hillenburg will continue to exec produce the all-new nautical and nonsensical episodes featuring the original voice cast including Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs and Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks.

Kristen Buckley Named Vice President, Programming, Nickelodeon

Kristen Buckley has been promoted from director to vp of programming for Nickelodeon, responsible for managing and maximizing Nickelodeon's on-air inventory. She develops strategic promotional and media plans in support of the network's initiatives and its ancillary businesses. Buckley oversees the implementation of these plans by partnering with the on-air creative teams on assignments and concepts for tune-in, events, packaged and live dayparts, as well as Nickelodeon Movies.

Pitt New VP at Nick

Adina Pitt has been promoted from director to vp of Acquisitions for Nickelodeon and Nicktoons, Nickelodeon's digital channel for the next generation of animation. Prism Ent. To Bring Nickelodeon Family To Life

Nickelodeon Europe has commissioned Prism Entertainment to produce local versions of its unique NICKELODEON FAMILY animation.

Jules Borkent, senior director, programming, acquisitions & development, Nickelodeon Europe, asked Prism to produce three localized versions of the NICKELODEON FAMILY for broadcast on its channels in Spain, Benelux and Scandinavia to air at the end of the year.

Nickelodeon, celebrating its 25th birthday this year, will kick off the 49th annual PROMAX&BDA conference at the Summer Garden at Rockefeller Center in New York City with a cocktail reception on the opening night, 8-11:00 pm on June 23, 2004 for conference attendees and other invited guests.

First 5 Minutes of Shrek 2 To Air on Nick

Nickelodeon will air the first five minutes of SHREK 2 on May 18, 2004 at 7:00 pm, the night before the DreamWorks film opens in theaters nationwide.

THQ Announces Nicktoons 2004 Game Lineup

THQ Inc. has secured the Nicktoons videogame license across multiple platforms. Games based on Nickelodeon's upcoming theatrical release THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE and interactive versions of Nickelodeon's highly rated television series THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS and THE ADVENTURES OF JIMMY NEUTRON BOY GENIUS will ship for all major game systems in 2004. Additionally, THQ will release games based on the NICKTOONS brand, in which all Nickelodeon characters co-exist and interact with each other.

Danny Phantom Materializes On Nickelodeon

Half-human, half-ghost DANNY PHANTOM has materialized on Nickelodeon with comic adventures as he straddles two worlds as a shy freshman at Casper High and a heroic phantom-fighter with ghostly superpowers -- courtesy of creator Butch Hartman (THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS) in an all-new animated series airing Fridays in primetime. The series saw a special premiere on April 3, 2004 at 9:30 pm and features back-to-back episodes on April 9 on its regular night and time at 8:30 pm.

Nick Line-Up for Licensing Show

Charged Teams With Nickelodeon To Produce Studio ID

Brooklyn, New York-based animation company Charged Productions has teamed with Nickelodeon to produce a studio ID to introduce Nickelodeon's latest feature film, THE WILD THORNBERRYS MOVIE. The 15-second ID, "Dog Nose," features the antics of a 3-foot tall puppy puppet filmed in stop-motion. The seeking snout of the animated pup sniffs the camera, until the Nickelodeon Movies logo is revealed. The ID ends with the playful pooch licking the lens. The spot is also being used as a channel identification logo on-air.

Albie Hecht Appointed President Of The New TNN

Nickelodeon animation head Albie Hecht has been appointed president of the cable channel The New TNN. In his new position, Hecht will oversee TNN as it repositions itself as television's first entertainment network for men, building upon its existing predominantly male audience composition.
