Every Thursday, Chris Robinson takes a look at films from animation’s past. Today: Busby (1997) by Anna-Henckel Donnersmark.
A series of photocopied hands and arms are computer manipulated to perform a Busby Berkeley-influenced dance number to the tune of a Judy Garland song. This ain’t no intellectual masterpiece, but it was never intended to be. Just a joyful and imaginative tribute to all that is camp.
