MTV Greenlights ‘Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head’ Season 3

Comedy Central has announced Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head Season 2 will premiere on the network Wednesday, July 10 at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The film Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, which originally premiered on Paramount+, also makes its Comedy Central debut on Wednesday, July 3 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

Following the success of the Paramount+ original film and two seasons of Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head, MTV Entertainment Studios announced the Season 3 renewal of the popular series. Production is underway and release is set for 2025 on Comedy Central. After the July 10 Season 2 release, fans can stream both Season 1 and 2 on Paramount+; Season 1 is now available.

Since Beavis and Butt-Head’s 1993 premiere, Emmy Award-winning creator Mike Judge has cemented the characters as cornerstones in adult animation. The show has gained notoriety for its sharp wit and unfiltered take on adolescence and remains a significant part of the cultural zeitgeist.

Created and voiced by writer, producer, and director Judge, the characters of Beavis and Butt-Head originated in his 1992 short film Frog Baseball, which broadcast on MTV’s animation showcase “Liquid Television.” After MTV commissioned an entire series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head went on to run for seven seasons, from March 8, 1993, to November 28, 1997. The studio revived the series in 2011 with an eighth season airing on MTV. During its initial run, Beavis and Butt-Head received widespread critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society and it subsequently spawned various related media, including the 1996 theatrical film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

Judge, Lew Morton and Michael Rotenberg executive produce the series alongside Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina and Antonio Canobbio for Titmouse.
