my favourite is the streetfighter II reference at the beginning... heh heh
What I thought was hilarious and cleverly veiled was that part with the marriage ring. Hmmm....marriage is a curse???? Intended??? ...or just "my" unconscious thoughts....

i was hoping that there was a site that explained some of that. i even corrected one of their mistakes and didn't find the reference that i was looking for. which is:
the end credits. what movie was that still frame style taken from?
anyone?
Are you thinking of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Doesn't it end on a still of the pair jumping to their certain deaths?
Hey, here's a reference that unfortunately got cut: I animated the shot during the credits where Puss struts up with a bimbo on each arm and says to a forlorn donkey, "Amigoooo, we are off to the Kit Kat Klub . . . c'mon, join us!" Originally I animated the bimbo (and, hey, I'm not being sexist calling her that -- the two women in the scene were named 'womanA_bimbo1' and 'womanA_bimbo2') on screen left doing the sexy Jessica Rabbit walk from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That's pretty hard to do in CG, where you can't constantly cheat the limb lengths, but it looked cool. Got a big laugh in dailies. Actually, I had to tone it down a little, 'cuz in CG it looked a little obscene and a tad weird. But I got it working, and it really showed off the characters, uh, assets. Then, just as the shot was about to be finaled, word came from upstairs that she looked too sexual (though that wasn't the word that was used). So I threw it all out and did what you saw on the screen.
In the end, it was probably for the best, because as it was you didn't pay any attention to Puss, who's actually delivering the line in the shot.
