Apologies for not replying as I simply hadn't checked the forum for a long while!.(
I've been working on this project in my spare time for 6 years now, which is ridiculous. But the amount of time it's gone on has been to do with it being a spare time project, my levels of discipline - sometimes I have let 2 or 3 months go by without working on it because it`s been too much to sit at my computer after a day job as a games artist.
The purpose was to improve and work on my camera and animation skills to hopefully move into film in some capacity, I just want to finish it now.)
And currently I thinking I`m really really a few months off finishing it!
The car chase itself has been key-framed using studio max 7 to 9. With some physics only used on a couple of shots of the black car as it crash lands.
Because I new it was going to be a long project, though I didn't expect this long, I thought about a few things to try and do - No flat roads, set it in a desert of Joshua trees so that there`s some interesting geometry to whizz by and also stylize it, as I can`t compete with pixars cars using a couple of basic desktops.
The look itself is created using actions in photoshop, no compositing.
Once I have some sound created for the whole piece I hope to get the animation into a couple of short animation festivals, and see if anyone things it has any merit.
Do you have any details you would like to share? Is there a web site?
Is this motion capture?
Orbital i request you to please some details about it
