The 17th edition of Slovenia’s weeklong animation festival promises to deliver the best and latest productions from the Eastern and Central European film scene.
Despite this year’s uncertainties due to the global pandemic, the 17th edition of Animateka will take place November 30 – December 6. Representing the best from the Baltics, the event has been a showcase for Central and Eastern European animation since its founding in 2004. This specialized competitive festival hosts programs that touch upon historical and thematic issues of the region.
This year the visuals of the festival were created by Andrej Štular, an internationally renowned artist in the fields of illustration, comics, painting, sculpture, photography, film, as well as puppetry and scenography. His work often includes recycling, and it is in this style that he has presented this year’s image of Animateka.
