CINANIMA 19 welcomes animation fans for a week of competition, screenings and exhibitions in beautiful Espinho, Portugal.
Since its inception in 1976, Cinanima has provided one of the biggest stages for all things film and animation. Screening exclusively animated films, the festival works to promote the art form and create new audiences by encouraging the recognition of animation cinema. Working to dispel the perception that animation is only for children, Cinanima provides affirmation that animation is an outstanding artistic and multidisciplinary communication platform. As an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences qualifying event, the festival winners are eligible for Oscar consideration.
The week-long program, running November 12 – 18, will be filled with screenings, exhibitions, workshops, performances, and other initiatives. For more information visit the festival’s website.
