Fredrikstad Animation Festival

FAF 2024 returns to Fredrikstad, Norway with the best and latest within Nordic-Baltic and international animation.

Fredrikstad Animation Festival (FAF) is a leading animation event in the Nordic region with the aim of promoting and increasing the awareness of animated expressions in the Nordic-Baltic countries. One of the cornerstones of the festival is the Nordic-Baltic animated short film competition. The festival is a professional arena for the animation industry, as well as an important event for students and educational institutions within animation, graphic design, and digital media production. Each year the event hosts top animation industry professionals who participate in seminars and lectures.

Legendary Estonian filmmaker, Priit Pärn will receive the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Pärn has served as an important international voice within the Nordic-Baltic animation community over the course of his 50-year career. The festival will recognize his role in educating new filmmakers and animators, highlighting his lifelong commitment to the Nordic-Baltic animation scene.
