Sam has perfected an approach to picture making that works for any level of experience. The absolute beginner will rise quickly and start creating bold energetic paintings within the first couple of week...s. The experienced professional will learn the simplest way to break down a scene and only paint what is necessary to communicate the story. We will not be covering tightly rendered paintings, but instead focus on quick color sketching to tell the entire story.
Supply List:
Mac/PC running PS 5.1 or later(preferred). As much ram as possible- but most can squeak by with as little as 4gigs. 16 Gb is better.
•Wacom tablet or Cintiq.
•DVD player on the computer… Newer MacBook Pros don’t actually include a tray.
•Fine black Sharpie pens.
•8”x11” plain copy paper
Traditional Option: acrylic or gouache paints.
•Simple warm/cool paint palette of the primaries/secondaries, plus black and white paint.
•Disposable paper palette.
•Cold press illustration board
•Removable tape for taping off paintings while working.
•Selection of 1/2 and 3/4 synthetic flat brushes. My favorite is the WN 995. Not sure if it’s still made.
• # 2,4,8 round brushes
•Plain old #2 pencils/Bic ink pens.
•Carton for water.
•Paper towels.
