The AMOA International Expo is sponsored by the Amusement & Music Operators Association, a 56-year old trade service organization representing the needs and interests of operators of coin-activated equipment and their trading partners. The event features nearly 600 booths featuring video ames, pinball, pool tables, cranes, electronic darts, CD jukeboxes, virtual reality, redemption equipment, gaming equipment, kiddie rides, electronics/power supplies/monitors, pay telephones, plush/supplies, coin counters/validators, electronic basketball and golf, vending and other coin-operated equipment.

The 2004' China International Cartoon and Digital Art Festival is sponsored and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China. The main events of the festival will include: The China International Cartoon Competition and Awards Ceremony; screenings of Chinese and international cartoon films; forum on cartoon industry and cartoon art and the China International Cartoon Product Market from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

The 23rd annual Vancouver International Film Festival encourages the understanding of other nations through the art of cinema, to foster the art of cinema, to facilitate the meeting in British Columbia of cinema professionals from around the world, and to stimulate the motion picture industry in British Columbia and Canada. More than 150,000 people attended 500 screenings of more than 300 films from more than 50 countries. In 2003 there were a record 261 feature and mid-length films, plus 85 shorts.

Chiavari on the Italian Riviera will be conducting a new animation festival in 2004. In this first edition the Chiavari festival will gather "the best" of the animation output of the years 2000-2004. The event committee will be selecting the films, bringing together the best work from the past four years. An international jury will award the Millennium Prize along with more prizes. The event is being organized by famed animation historian Giannalberto Bendazzi.

The International Trade Fair for Motion Picture Technology is a bi-annual international meeting point of the film sector. In 2002, 3,127 visitors from 49 countries attended the event. Participation in the film industry's specialist trade fair is expected from the fields of camera and grip technology, production of film stock, lighting and sound, post-production and digital film editing, set decoration and accessories, technical aids, as well as services, institutes, organizations and publishing houses.

The FREDERICK NEWS-POST hosts the 3rd Frederick Festival of Film. The goal of the event is to promote film, video and digital independent moviemaking in the greater Frederick and mid-Atlantic region, showcasing independent filmmakers and striving to educate the audience and deepen their appreciation for the art and craft of filmmaking. In addition to screening films, filmmakers are encouraged to introduce their films and participate in lively panel discussions and audience Q & A sessions. In addition, the event runs the 72-Hour Filmmaker contest.

Connichi 2004 is Germany's largest anime conventions. The event celebrates everything anime including films, manga and music. As part of the event, there will be an AMV competition. The Animation Block Party is an animation screening curated by Casey Safron and hosted by Office Ops and The Archive. The event will be showing the best recent films from the top colleges in New York as well as the works from many of the animation professors at these schools like Don Duga, Irra Verbitsky and Candy Kugel. Top independent New York animators such as Howard Beckerman, Bill Plympton, Jeff Scher, Peter Sluskza and Emily Hubley are screening their independent work, and some of their shorts are premiering at the Animation Block Party.
