TGSNT II (The Greatest Story Never Told Flash Storytelling Competition)
ZOOLOOK Ent. and MediaTemple Inc. are hosting the 2nd Annual TGSNT competition. TGSNT seeks to recognize and reward independent storytellers worldwide who use Macromedia Flash MX or any third party software that exports to the swf format as a storytelling medium to produce original stories for the Web, DVD, TV, film and wireless entertainment. This year, the competition will offer double the exposure and double the prizes. Participating animators are also allowed to submit their original stories using the following software programs:

Katsucon 11

Beginning Animation VO Class
MJ Prods. is offering a new Beginning Animation Voice Over Class. Attendees will learn to create, define and develop character voices for animation of all kinds, commercials, CD-ROM, the Web and direct-to-video. The Mobile Exposure handheld video program is an exploration of the potentials of mobile motion imaging. Practitioners are invited to submit all lengths of work, although the focus will be on short works (less than 15 minutes in length). This international exhibition of mobile video will be presented by Microcinema International and curated by Patrick Lichty.

OSDL's Enterprise Linux Summit
The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global consortium dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux in the enterprise, will be hosting the OSDL's Enterprise Linux Summit. DICE Summit 2005

ASIFA-Hollywood is currently accepting entries for the 32nd Annual Annie Awards. Deadline to receive entries is Friday, October 3, 2003. Every year, ASIFA-Hollywood, the Los Angeles area-based branch of the International Animated Film Society, honors the best in film, television, game and Internet animation with the Annie Awards. The awards ceremony will take place at a black-tie gala celebration at the Alex Theater in Glendale, California on Jan. 30, 2005.

BAWLS Guarana, a favorite high caffeine soft drink among gamers, and The Slamdance Film Festival have created The BIG C - the BAWLS Independent Game Competition - to help aspiring game developers showcase their work in a national competition. Presented by Slamdance, The Big C is calling for entries of all new games from emerging talent. Selected games will compete at The Slamdance Film Festival and will be judged by festival attendees, with a Jury Award and Audience Award that include cash and prizes presented at the end of the festival.
Animation India 2005
National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) and the government of Andhra Pradesh are hosting Animation India 2005. Many experts in the field of animation will speak. Spike TV's Video Game Awards 2004
Spike TV will be hosting its second annual Video Game Awards, hosted by hip hop impresario and avid gamer Snoop Dogg from Barker Hanger. The second annual awards celebrate the games, the designers, the animation, the music and the performances of the past year in videogames, while also taking a look to the future of games in 2005 and beyond.
The Spike TV 2004 Video Game Awards Advisory Board, consisting of gaming industry experts and media, will be announced in September with official categories and nominees to be announced later this fall.
