3rd Abuja International Film and Video Festival 2006

An international film and video festival in its third year accepts film and video entries in all genres from any part of the world. The event is held from the end of September to the first week of October in the beautiful capital city of Abuja, Nigeria. There are no entry fees as the festival accepts 35MM, Super 16MM, 16MM, DVCAM, HDCAM, etc.
Deadline for entry is 30th June 2OO6.
DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival 2006

DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival has a mission to "bring attention to the creative output from Asian Pacific American (APA) and Asian Diasporic communities and encourage the artistic development of APA films in the greater Washington D.C. metropolitan region." The screenings are held at the Smithsonian Institution, the American Film Institute, Landmark Theatres, the Canadian Embassy and other venues. It gives local students an opportunity to gain international exposure for their computer-generated imagery and make contacts in the computer-graphics community. Students producing computer animation, visualization or visual effects in the course of their studies that attends a school within a 75-mile radius of Times Square in Manhattan is eligible.

New York Asian Film Festival 2006

The New York Asian Film Festival focuses on the best contemporary Asian movies. This year's festival will take place at the Anthology Film Archives and the ImaginAsian theater.
Already lined up is CROMARTIE HIGH SCHOOL (Japan, 2005) based on the best-selling manga. This high school movie follows the saga of filthy, lousy Cromartie High, a school so sucky that they even enroll gorillas, robots and Freddie Mercury. Only an invasion of space monkeys can bring this warring student body together.
The full line-up will be announced during the last week of April.

Design Festa started in 1994, and is a freestyle International Art Event open to artists from all over the world to exhibit their creative talent. Design Festa is the biggest art event in Asia! The event features a wide diversity of creative work, including painting, sculpture, fashion and installations, as well as multimedia, film-screening, live music, and performance art. Design Festa is held twice a year in spring and fall at Tokyo Big Sight.
