thanks for your replies guys.
its not really a commercial. i think it will be used as an intro to a website, or maybe just as a section on the website. i'm not exactly sure.
i intended the black lines to help the characters stand out, yes. is it too much?
i agree about the possibly over-simplified backgrounds. they definitely couldve used some more touches of detail. same with the bezier curves on the objects.. i think some of that is the result of some auto-smoothing from flash. but you're right, i shouldve spent more time tweaking.
in any case, thanks again for looking, and for commenting!

I got some questions, is this suppose to be a commercial?
Pretty cool, and it streamed/loaded really quickly which is a big plus. Some of your curves in your objects seem a bit off, but maybe that's the style you're going for, but you might want to finesse them a bit with the bezier tool.

I like it a lot. I think the overall look is pretty good and I really like the design of the girl however, I think you should have a little bit more detail on the cars instead of them being colorful blobs.:D However colorful blobs are still pretty good. Are you trying to emphasize the characters? Because that's what the bold black lines do to the characters. Maybe add details to the background? However, maybe that's what you are trying to accomplish but that's just what I think.:D
