The Animation Workshop (TAW) 2025 has announced that 48 character animators and computer graphic artists will graduate from The Animation Workshop on January 17.
The budding artists, who began the program in 2021, produced graduation projects in their final semester as a culmination of their studies. The mixed production teams consisted of 4-12 animators and graphic artists, who created five short films and two game trailers.
The projects include Bliss, Books Are Made of Trees, Potlems, Rogue, Rune Ravers, Service Bus, and The Walls Have Eyes.
In Bliss, on a passage towards the afterlife, an old woman crosses paths with the soul of a small child. The short was created by Freya Zoharah, Emilia Tobiasz, Chiara D’Ambrosio, Emma Nørholm, Sara Bellafá, and Terence Winterstein.
Books Are Made of Trees follows Leon, a grumpy badger, who refuses to abandon his beloved book collection in the face of danger. The short was created by Julianna Jakubowska, Karen Haldrup, Emma Olivia Dueholm, Amalia Eiron, Ágúst Elí Ásgeirsson, Inès Zulianel, and Alicia Ludwig.
In the 3D mini-opera Potlems, a porcelain child comes to life in an ever-smiling family. Everything seems perfect until his fatal flaw comes to light: a frown. The 70s stop-motion styled short was crafted by Alberto Allegri Rodríguez, Astrid Lund Rasmussen, Christopher Tjørnild Falkenberg, Guido ‘Grey’ Duijn, Ida Gørtz, Melissa Raymundo Lund, and Victor Ragnar Karlsson.
Rogue follows a ruthless bounty hunter, who finds out what it means to be shown no mercy. The short was created by Daniel N. Castillo Suarez, Leo Bailey, Maria Zheleznova, Kinga Anna Kasperczyk, Nils Kuhl, and Niels Glenhammer.
Service Bus explores what would happen if a service button existed on a bus. Parched passenger Rolf presses the button to quench his thirst…but at what cost? The short was crafted by Elmer Mikael Lødemel, Niels Gram Riisgaard, Matthew Ponquett, Simon Koch Pedersen, Sam Byrne, Andreas Smidt, and Lea My Ib.
The video game trailer Rune Ravers showcases a game where friends can compete in ritual combat to a musical beat. Team members on the trailer and game include David Nayda, Noam Keasar, Tobias Højlev Madsen, and Rune Schrøder.
Finally, The Walls Have Eyes is a trailer for a game set in 1884’s Copenhagen, where a horrible murder traps a spirit inside a house. The spirit aids a lone detective in solving the mysterious crime, hoping that the truth will set it free. The trailer and game team include Anne-Dorthe Seberg Hansen, Magnus Lonborg, Anna L. Hellstrand, Isabella Elmstrom, Celina Lilliedahl, Camilla S. Jensen, Matlilde Lea Holm, Julie Dinsen, and Laurits Rask.
As in previous years, the graduation projects will be made available online in the Spring for free on TAW social media channels.
