Submissions now being accepted, through October 7, for Mexico’s first festival dedicated to the animated image in Mexico and Latin America.
ANIMASIVO, Mexico City's contemporary animation festival focused on the diffusion and education of animation films in Mexico and Latin America, is accepting entries for the 12th edition of their international animated short film competition. As the first festival dedicated exclusively to the animated image in Mexico, ANMASIVO has become known in Latin America as an essential part of the education of a generation of Mexican animators.
The festival platform promotes experimental and independent animation and its ability to subvert, reinvent and explore aesthetics, imagery and narrative styles. The deadline for submission is September 8, 2019. Information regarding specific submission criteria is available here.
Awards for the best works selected by the jury are:
- Best Mexican Short Film: $20,000 MXN
- Best International Short Film: Special Guest of ANIMASIVO 2020
- Best International Student Short Film: $10,000 MXN
- Best Animated Documentary Short Film: $25,000 MXN
- National Student Short Film Selection: Grants for DOMESTIKA
