As part of its expansion into the U.S. market, Komixx opens its first international office in Los Angeles.
London, UK -- Komixx Entertainment has opened its first international office in LA as part of its expansion into the U.S. market.
Building on its recent UK success -- the new children’s series Toby’s Travelling Circus now regularly attracts an audience of over 2 million viewers -- Komixx is now setting its sights on the American television, film and computer gaming industries, especially high-end drama for teenagers.
Komixx has joined with US media company, Great Guns, to explore content for the computer games industry by extending its franchise of established intellectual property.
Andrew Cole-Bulgin, Joint CEO and Head of Film & TV, Komixx Entertainment, said: “The model for IP and rights-owning companies in our segment has shifted considerably. The focus needs to be on successful franchises with potential to create not just long-term broadcast success, but retail success on a global scale. Working with Great Guns, a company with a long reputation for innovation, high calibre creative solutions and superb production values, was viewed as a natural extension to the work we are doing in the UK.”
Laura Gregory, founder of Great Guns, said: “Komixx is a really exciting partnership for us. With so much entertainment delivered through cross media environments, joining forces with them will both increase the scope of our offering as a global content provider and give Komixx access to Great Guns’ creative talent to help develop new and exciting IP concepts.”
