The latest from Studio Ghibli scores for Best Motion Picture – Animated, while director Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ garners 5 awards and 'The Last of Us' wins for Best Television Series – Drama; the ceremony is now streaming on Paramount+.
The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced yesterday at a live ceremony hosted by comedian Jo Koy. His opening monolog has been widely panned, but that’s another story… that we’re not that interested in. Launched in 1944 by foreign journalists covering Hollywood, the awards recognize the best creative talent from the perspective of international journalists.
Oscar-winning filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s new feature, The Boy and The Heron was honored with “Best Motion Picture – Animated.” The film marked the legendary Miyazaki’s return to the cinema after a 10-year absence and most likely is his last feature.
Oppenheimer won big across five categories including “Best Montion Picture – Drama” with director Chrisopher Nolan picking up the award for “Best Director – Motion Picture.”
