U.K. based sales agent Moviehouse Entertainment is seeking deals with foreign buyers for Frank Gladstone's The Hero of Color City, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
Featuring the voices of Christina Ricci (Mermaids), Rosie Perez (Do The Right Thing) and Craig Ferguson (How To Train Your Dragon), the project is now in final animation production.
Toonz Entertainment and Exodus Film Group brought in Moviehouse Entertainment to handle International sales for the movie, which -- aimed at three to six year olds -- details the story of the adventures of a diverse band of crayons as they strive to protect their magical multi-hued homeland, and the imaginations of children everywhere, from a terrifying monster.
Gladstone (The Road to El Dorado) has worked within the animation divisions of Disney, Warner Bros. and DreamWorks.
The Hero of Color City is produced by Max Howard, former president of Warner Bros Feature Animation who collaborated on movies such as Space Jam, The Iron Giant, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King and John D. Eraklis (Igor), the founder/CEO of VFX and production services company Exodus Film Group.
The film is being co-financed by Toonz Entertainment with delivery set for summer 2014. Magnolia Pictures will release the film theatrically in North America.
