As if this was in doubt… plot details are under wraps for the fourth cinematic installment, as ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3,’ which follows Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails as they reunite against the powerful adversary Shadow, quickly soars past $200 million at the global box office.
Paramount Pictures has confirmed that everyone’s favorite blue speedster is set to grace theaters once again in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, with a release date set for Spring 2027. Plot details have not yet been revealed.
The most recent installment in the franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, follows Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails as they reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet. The film hit theaters December 20 and has quickly soared past $200 million at the global box office.
Franchise director Jeff Fowler returns for the third film along the all-star cast including Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub, James Wolk and newcomers Alyla Browne and Krysten Ritter, with Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) joining the franchise as Shadow the Hedgehog.
