SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) today announced The Price of Victory, the latest expansion in the successful Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game scheduled for release this December. Experience a never-before told story that takes place in parallel with pivotal moments of the Galactic Civil War as seen in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. Players will side with Rebel or Imperial forces at the Battle of Hoth, face fierce fighting aboard a massive Imperial Star Destroyer, engage in epic combat and traverse the dangers of the Cloud City underworld.
The Price of Victory adds more than 175 new playable cards to the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game, bringing the total number of cards in the game to more than 1900. The new playable cards will feature unique keyword abilities like:
• “Versatile” - Enhances the capabilities of marked units, opening up new avenues of devastating strategy.• “Entanglement” - Interfere with your opponent’s strategies like never before, forcing them to be flexible with their game play.
In addition, this expansion introduces new cards to the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game, including: • New Playable Avatars – Utilize the power of two new playable avatars – the Empire-sympathetic Devaronians and the Rebel Alliance-assisting Selonians.• New Light and Dark Side Campaigns – Two new campaigns that feature five new Empire Strikes Back-inspired scenarios each for both Light and Dark Side players take the action from the icy surface of Hoth to the mysterious Cloud City, with all new opponents and rewards.• New Expertise Units – New specialized units that can utilize attack and defense attributes for purposes other than combat.• New Loot Cards – More than 20 The Empire Strikes Back-themed loot cards will be available, including the Dagobah and Cloud City housing structures, plus the Single-Pod Cloud Car player vehicle.
The Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game marks the first-ever Star Wars® trading card game offered exclusively online. Available to both current and former Star Wars Galaxies subscribers*, the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game provides players with an entirely new gameplay experience by combining the challenge of a trading card game with the adventures and community of a massively multiplayer online game. Players can build their own virtual decks to fight in story mode, and participate in epic one-on-one matches, cooperative heroic encounters and official tournaments.
