ALEXANDRIA, VA. (March 12, 2010) – With just over a month to go, T-MODE 2010 is gearing up for a party like no other. The popular local anime and gaming convention makes its triumphant return April 16-18, 2010, and will be held this year at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town, just steps from the King Street Metro.

Cosplay Corner
On Saturday February 20, 2010 at 2:30pm DC Anime Club will be hosting an costume creation workshop called “Cosplay Corner” at the Martin Luthur King, Jr Memorial Library 901 G St NW Washington, DC 20001 in Room A5 on the A Level. "Cosplay" is short for "Costume Play", in which fans of Japanese Animation (Anime) and Japanese Comics (Manga) dress up as their favorite Anime, Manga and Video Game Characters by costumes they make themselves. The word “Cosplay” was coined by Nov Takahashi of the Japanese Studio, "Studio Hard".

DISNEY'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL TRAIN TOUR
"DISNEY'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL" Train Tour rolls into Indianapolis September 9, offering visitors an exclusive 3D sneak peek from the movie as well as a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the making of the movie--with artifacts and character designs housed in real train cars. Amidst a winter wonderland with holiday decor, visitors will see footage from "Disney's A Christmas Carol" inside an inflatable 3-D theatre. Visitors can also check out the cutting-edge technology behind the film, as well as artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum and interactive games. The fun family event is totally FREE!
10th Annual Woodstock Museum Film/Video Festival
The Woodstock Museum is hosting its 10th film/video festival with the theme of "Change." The festival screens completed features, documentaries, shorts and works in progress. All genres including animation and digital media; everything must be in English (or with English subtitles). Submission formats can be DVD (NTSC and PAL), DV, DVCAM, VHS, S-VHS, Hi-8 or BETA SP.

Iris - International Festival of LGBT Animation
The Iris - International Festival of LGBT Animation will screen animated films, Brazilians and foreigners, with topics related to sexual diversity: gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals.
We selected 21 short animated films from different countries: Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, USA, France, Netherlands, UK, Sweden and Turkey. The films are in two special programs (Program 1 and Program 2) and will screen in two sessions daily (7:00pm and 8:30pm) during the 3 first Tuesday of 2009 September (09/01, 09/08 and 09 /15).
Ink Well Foundation Mixer
The Ink Well is a group of New York animators, illustrators, and cartoon artists who draw with children facing illness in hospitals and other health care centers.
The Ink Well is on the hunt for some new volunteers so this Monday the 17th we're headed for a little food, drinks and fun on the outdoor patio of The Mad Hatter. All artists with a professional background in the arts are welcome. We'll be on the outdoor patio, ask for The Ink Well party.
