On Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, Warner Home Video and Best Buy are hosting a special in-store CORPSE BRIDE DVD signing, featuring co-director/producer Tim Burton and composer Danny Elfman. The event will take place at Best Buy at 1015 La Brea Avenue, Hollywood, beginning at 8:30 pm.
Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion animated feature follows the story of Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (voiced by Helena Bonham-Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (voiced by Emily Watson), waits bereft in the Land of the Living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love.
The Tim Burton/Laika Ent. production was directed by Mike Johnson and Burton, who produced with Allison Abbate from a screenplay by John August, Caroline Thompson and Pamela Pettler. The exec producers are Jeffrey Auerbach and Joe Ranft. The director of photography was Pete Kozachik; the production designer was Alex McDowell; the editors are Jonathan Lucas and Chris Lebenzon, A.C.E.
