Press Release from Coolabi
Three classic children’s series, Bagpuss, Clangers and Ivor the Engine, have found a new digital home at iTunes – and have already made an enormous impression at the site.
Coolabi, who has TV distribution for the three properties, has entered into a deal on behalf of the rights owners with home entertainment company E1 Entertainment to make the original episodes from these enormously popular shows available to download from iTunes. Success has been immediate and within days of launching, the shows all went straight into the top 5 in the Kids’ Store Chart with five-star ratings.
Michael Dee, Director of Content at Coolabi, says: “By tapping into the huge iTunes market with these classic and much loved brands we can access both adult fans who remember the programmes from their childhood and kids who are discovering them for the first time.”
Adds Jon Bourdillon, Director Home Entertainment, E1, “With such a huge following of fans, Baguss, Clangers and Ivor the Engine are perfect for iTunes, and we’re already seeing they are going to be a massive hit. What’s more we’ll be exposing them for the first time to international markets and to a new, younger audience in the UK.”
