‘Dan Da Dan’ Season 2 Debut Set

Teaser trailer released for new season of the hit sci-fi/horror anime series from animation studio Science SARU, based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, which will premiere in July 2025.

Mainichi Broadcasting System Inc. has announced that the anime series Dan Da Dan will return for Season 2 in July 2025.

Season 1 follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun. Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make each other believe, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal entities and awaken hidden powers.

Based on the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dan Da Dan is an action-packed love letter to sci-fi and horror with the heart of a funny teen rom-com.

The directorial debut from Fuga Yamashiro, with a script by Hiroshi Seko, is the latest series from animation studio Science SARU (The Colors Within, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) with original music from kensuke ushio (Chainsaw Man).

Shion Wakayama (JP)/Abby Trott (EN) stars as Momo alongside Natsuki Hanae (JP)/AJ Beckles (EN) as Okarun; Nana Mizuki (JP)/Kari Wahlgren (EN) as Seiko; Ayane Sakura (JP)/Lisa Reimold (EN) as Aira; Kaito Ishikawa (JP)/Aleks Le (EN) as Jiji; Kazuya Nakai (JP)/Ben Diskin (EN) as Serpoian; Mayumi Tanaka (JP)/Barbara Goodson (EN) as Turbo Granny; Ryuzaburo Otomo as Flatwoods Monster; Kikuko Inoue as Acrobatic Silky; Tomokazu Seki as Dover Demon; Tomokazu Sugita as Taro; Fumi Hirano as Hana; and Masako Isobe as Naki Kito.

Junichi Higashi serves at art director on the series, with compositing direction by Kazuto Izumita; creature design by Yoshimichi Kameda; character design by Naoyuki Onda; and color design by Satoshi Hashimoto and Makiho Kondo.

Dan Da Dan Season 1 is now streaming on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu.
