Dave Bautista, Eric Nam Join Cast of ‘Aang: The Last Airbender’ Animated Feature

Serving as the first of three planned standalone films, the project from Nickelodeon Animation, Paramount Animation, Avatar Studios and Flying Bark Productions will premiere October 10, 2025.

Dave Bautista and Eric Nam have joined the voice cast of the upcoming Aang: The Last Airbender animated feature from Nickelodeon Animation, Paramount Animation, and the recently formed Avatar Studios, according to Variety.

Also lending their voice talents are Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza. The project is slated as the first of three planned standalone films, and will be directed by Lauren Montgomery with William Mata acting as co-director. While plot details have not been released, the film will follow the exploits of Aang, Appa, Katara, Momo, Sokka, Suki, Toph, and Zuko as adults, in-between the events of the original Avatar series and The Legend of Korra.

Flying Bark Productions, known for LEGO Monkie Kid and What If…? will animate. For the upcoming film, the animation studio stated it “will be looking to push the boundaries of hybrid animation, working within both 2D and CG styles” and looks to expand its team to begin work this year.

Original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino will produce alongside Eric Coleman (Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob SquarePants).

Aang: The Last Airbender hits theaters October 10, 2025.
