DIC Entertainment recently inked deals with leading networks for international distribution for shows including SUPER DUPER SUMOS, MADELINE, MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY: IN ACTION and SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE 22ND CENTURY. "MIP-TV was a success for us, even considering the state of the world at the time," said Pat Ryan, evp of international sales.

"In light of the fact that the international market has been stagnant for some time, we have raised the bar by consistently selling to networks worldwide," added Leslie Nelson, co-managing director of worldwide sales. "Our global success is a testament to the popularity of DICs library of animation."
Further TV deals were signed with AB Groupe France (MUMMIES ALIVE, WHERE ON EARTH IS CARMEN SANDIEGO?), RTE Ireland (MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY: IN ACTION), Club RTL Belgium (MADELINE, SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE 22ND CENTURY, HURRICANES), Alter TV Greece (SUPER DUPER SUMOS, MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY: IN ACTION, MADELINE), Fox Kids Italy (SUPER MARIO ADVENTURES, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG), TV Globo Brazil (SUPER DUPER SUMOS), Televisa Mexico (MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY: IN ACTION, SUPER DUPER SUMOS, MADELINE, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG), Anteve TV Indonesia (CARMEN SANDIEGO, SHERLOCK HOLMES, MUMMIES ALIVE) and M-Net South Africa (CARMEN SANDIEGO, EVOLUTION).

DIC is suing Speed Racer Enterprises for breach of contract following the cancellation of a deal between the two companies for DIC to distribute SPEED RACER. Part of that dispute now includes DIC's sales of the toon to Cartoon Network Latin America and Boomerang, Nickelodeon Asia, ABC Broadcasting Australia, Ambang Malaysia and Fairmead South Africa.
After DIC left Disney in 2000, the international sales department was restructured with Ryan and Nelson at the helm, overseeing all international revenue streams including worldwide broadcast sales and home entertainment. DIC (www.dicentertainment.com) has offices in Paris, Cologne, London and Burbank.
