Jon Hamm Says All Will Be OK in New 'Despicable Me 4' Big Game Spot

Who are we to argue with the famous Mad Man? The biggest global animated franchise in history – and its considerably manic mayhem - returns with the first ‘Despicable Me’ film in 7 years, as stars Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig return alongside franchise newcomers Will Ferrell, Sofia Vergara, Joey King, and Stephen Colbert; action-comedy hits theaters July 3.

If famous actor and all-around good guy (who used to be a Mad Man, just saying…) Jon Hamm says artificial intelligence will bring family and friends closer together, and that the future is in good hands, that's good enough for me! What... Me Worry? Not according to the new Despicable Me 4 Big Game Spot!

Gru and his Minions return for yet more “despicable” mayhem as the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League-agent begins a bold new era. And by mayhem, we mean mayhem!

In the new action-comedy, from Illumination, which hits theaters July 3, 2024, Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run.

Directed by Oscar nominee Chris Renaud (co-creator of the Minions) and produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman, the film stars Oscar nominees Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig, who return for… you guessed it… more mayhem!

The new cast also includes Joey King, Emmy winner Stephen Colbert, SNL’s Chloe Fineman, and newcomer Madison Polan. Returning cast members include Pierre Coffin as the voice of the Minions, Oscar nominee Steve Coogan, Oscar nominee Renaud, Daytime Emmy nominee Miranda Cosgrove, and franchise veteran Dana Gaier.

The film is co-directed by Patrick Delage (animation director Sing 2 and The Secret Life of Pets 2), the screenplay is by the Emmy-winning creator of White Lotus, Mike White, and veteran writer of every Despicable Me film, Ken Daurio.

Despicable Me 4 hits theaters July 3.
