Kinetica 2: A Centennial Tribute To Oskar Fischinger is touring the U.S. with many of the masters works. The exhibit is set up into three programs. Program One features Fischingers titles recently restored by the Academy Film Archive. Program Two features rarely seen works, advertising films, experiments and fragments of uncompleted films. As part of the second program iotaCenter director Cindy Keefer has produced a new documentary, OSKAR FISCHINGER: THE CREATIVE SPIRIT. Program Three will feature the work of many artists who have been influenced by Fischingers work. Filmmakers included are John Whitney, Harry Smith, Hy Hirsh, Len Lye, Jordan Belson, James Whitney, Larry Cuba, Sara Petty, Norman McLaren, Mary Ellen Bute, Jules Engel, Paul Glabicki, Robert Darroll, Vibeke Sorensen, Michael Scroggins, Bärbel Neubauer and Jose Antonio Sistiaga. The exhibition is being organized by iota, a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the art of light and movement.
